MISSMAN ANNOUNCES NEW SYCAMORE OFFICE!

Missman is pleased to announce the opening of our newest office located in Sycamore, Illinois (5 miles northeast of DeKalb).  The new branch office will provide support to our expanding client base in Illinois. The office will be headed by Frank Hodina, PE.  Frank, a former City Engineer for Moline, Illinois specializes in municipal engineering, downtown redevelopment, and storm water utilities. He has experience in coordinating and planning the construction of public improvements to include streets and thorough-fares, public buildings, water and sewer systems and public land usage.  Frank said: “Missman is dedicated to providing quality professional services to all of our clients, and this is one way of showing our commitment toward that goal.” 

The Missman Sycamore office will offer a full range of Civil Engineering services including: Roadway Design, Site Development, Water/Wastewater Design, Structural Engineering, Land Surveying, and Construction Observation. Our goal is to help to bring your ideas and expectations together and to build quality into each step of the project planning, management and execution.

RECONSTRUCTION OF 5TH AVENUE - MOLINE, IL
Project Awarded: Reconstruction of 5th Avenue - Moline, IL

Construction will begin in the 1400 block of 5th Avenue to 15th Street. Street closure will include 14th Street at 5th Avenue to the West side of 15th Street. The final block of reconstruction will be 16th Street to 17th Street. Each section is anticipated to take approximately two months to complete. The entire reconstruction project is anticipated to be complete by year end.

Once construction is complete, downtown Moline will benefit from repaved streets and sidewalks, new water mains and sanitary sewers, new streetscaping and the addition of on-street parking.

Missman’s responsibility for this project is construction observation in its entirety.

INTERSTATE 80 RECONSTRUCTION

Improvement consists of I-80 reconstruction from 4 lanes to 6 lanes from the Mississippi River to north of the IL 5/IL 92 interchange. Missman will be responsible for construction staking and layout including pay quantities, material testing and inspection including density testing. Estimated completion date is October 29, 2010.

ACEC 2009 SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARDED TO MISSMAN STANLEY
Project Awarded: MILAN BELTWAY EXTENSION

The first section begins north of Indian Bluff Road. It extends north to the Rock River for 1.1 miles and along Airport Road from east of I-280 easterly to Case Creek for 0.5 miles. This section includes the reconstruction and extension of the Milan Beltway to include a grade separation interchange with Airport Road, frontage/service roads, signalized intersections, Airport Road reconstruction and side road modifications. The second section begins north of the Rock River. It extends northerly for approximately 0.7 of a mile to John Deere Expressway/Blackhawk Road. This section includes a grade separation interchange with 52nd Avenue, 52nd Avenue Bridge, relocated and reconstructed Blackhawk Road, service roads, signalized intersections and side road modifications. Missman’s work included preparation of contract plans, specifications and estimates, supplemental field survey, traffic signal plans, structure plans and traffic staging plans.
