Role & ResponsibilITY: Provided culvert and hydraulic studies, ditch flow studies, grades and storm sewer design.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Illinois Department of Transporation (IDOT) needed to connect the Illinois Quad Cities between the Rock River and the Mississippi River, while maintaining an economic and cost-effective design. This project provided a four-lane connection to the south side of the Rock River, affording easy access to commercial areas north of the river and commercial and residential oppportunities south of the river. During the design and construction phase, Missman was responsible for coordinating mimimal delays of flight patterns with the Quad City International Airport and the Federal Aviation Administration. This completed segment finishes a project which has been in the works since the 1960's. Included is a multi-use path crossing the Rock River, which provides more biking and walking in the area, thus providing a secondary benefit as a result of this project.
